BOOKWORMS Kestra Dawson and Sam Wareing will turn tough book critics to help find the Lancashire Book of the Year.

The Year 9 students from Garstang Community Academy met up with award-winning author, Adele Geras and pupils from 11 other schools in the county to discuss their favourite stories and put together a shortlist for the prestigious award.

The pair have now been tasked with reading 10 books and will meet with their fellow reviewers again on May 25 to cast the final decision.

The prestigious Lancashire Book of the Year Award will be presented to the winning author at County Hall in Preston in June.
