Fundraisers pulled on their running shoes for a 10K charity run on the launch day of an appeal set-up in memory of Garstang footballer Adam Swanwick.

Adam’s fiance and founder of the After Death Appears Miracles (A.D.A.M) appeal Louise Ayre was at the start-line to cheer on the 41 family and friends, including Adam’s mum Winnie and sister Ann Bailey, who had signed up to the Wesham 10K.

The campaigners joined over 400 runners for the annual race which they named ‘Jogging for Jags’ the nickname of the 28-year-old who died after a massive heart attack on September 2.

Louise’s friend Rosie Heaps, organised the fundraiser in aid of Lancaster Infirmary Accident and Emergency Department and she said the runners were raised over £4,000 for the cause. Sign up to the appeal e-petition at epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/31819
