UPDATE: Man 'critical' after crash near Myerscough College

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was left in a critical condition following a crash in Bilsborrow.

Emergency services were called at around 11.50am on Thursday, 9 March to St Michael’s Road near Myerscough College following reports of an accident

A Ford Fiesta travelling westbound had drifted across the road and collided with a hedgerow, say police.

The driver, a 75-year-old man from Blackpool, was found unresponsive and taken to Royal Preston Hospital by paramedics. He is currently in a critical condition.

A female passenger was uninjured.

Sgt Dave Hurst, of Lancashire Police’s Road Policing Unit, said: “We are investigating a road traffic collision in Bilsborrow.

“A 75-year-old man was found unresponsive at the wheel and is in a critical condition at hospital.

“If you saw the vehicle before the collision, or witnessed the incident, please call us.”
