TRIBUTES have been paid this week to a motorcyclist who died in a horrific crash in Pilling at the weekend.

Carl Green, age 47, from Thornton Cleveleys, died when the motorbike he was riding was in collision with a car on Sunday afternoon.

This week Mr Green’s daughter, Christine Green, paid a moving tribute to her father.

She said: “He died doing what he loved best.

“A big thank you for all the people who helped him at the scene. He was a character that will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Love you Dad.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information about the collision.

The accident happened at shortly before 12.45pm at the junction of Lancaster Road and Gulf Lane.

It is believed the Suzuki motorcycle being ridden by Mr Green was travelling along Lancaster Road, towards the town, when it collided with a VW Passat turning into Gulf Lane.

Mr Green was thrown from his bike and sustained fatal injuries.

Sgt Jon Allwright, of the Force Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the families of the motorcyclist and those others involved. We are asking for anyone who may have seen the accident and didn’t stop at the scene to contact the police.”
