The owners of a popular village pub are looking at introducing parking fees at their car park.
Bosses at the Th’owd Tithebarn in Church Road, Garstang, are taking the step following complaints from customers.
It is understood the issues relate to a lack of parking because non-customers are using the site and motorists are blocking others in and cannot be found to move their vehicles because they are not actually using the pub.
The pub is run by the Mitchell’s Hotels and Inns chain.
A spokesman for the company said that as yet a decision had not been taken, but that charging for parking was being looked at.
They also said that if any such plans were brought into place customers of the venue would be reimbursed for parking charges.
The spokesman for Mitchell’s added: “We are looking at the possibility of introducing parking charges for Th’Owd Tithebarn.
“This is following customer complaints regarding lack of parking availability.
“If we introduce parking charges we will, of course, reimburse our customers who use the pub.”
Mitchell’s, of Lancaster, owns 60 pubs and five hotels, which vary from city centre venues, food houses to community pubs.
