PLANS for 18 ‘affordable housing’ homes on Hall Lane, Great Eccleston, have been approved by Wyre Council planning committee.
The layout includes four one bed apartments, nine two bed houses and five three bed houses.
Great Eccleston parish council had objected to the plans saying there was no identifiable need for the development.
Members of the public had previously raised other issues, including drainage issues, traffic and highway problems, bats living in nearby trees trees, existing medical/health facilities possibly being unable to cope with increased demand.
There were 27 letters objection, including a petition against the plans.
