Weather forecasters from the Met Office have issued a yellow warning for heavy rain across the North West this afternoon.
The weather alert comes into place at noon today and is active until 9pm, warning that scattered, heavy, thundery showers are expected to develop and will once again lead to slow-moving downpours across the North West.
“Please be aware of possible localised flooding and disruption to travel,” warned forecasters.
“Another day when the June sunshine looks like triggering some heavy and slow-moving downpours. 15-20 mm could fall within an hour in scattered locations, bringing the risk of flooding, especially if across urban areas.”
