Wine store plans festive opening

Work is underway to convert a former opticians into a new wine shop which plans to open in time for Christmas.

The business, Aged in Oak Wine Company, has taken a lease on the shop in Market Place, Garstang.

The business is the first Aged in Oak shop to open in Lancashire.

Fittng out of the shop is underway and it is scheduled to open for trade week commencing November 26, subject to renovations.

Owners Alex Buxton and Emma Bailie, who hail from Preston, are excited about the venture.

Alex said: “Garstang has a fantastic reputation as a busy and vibrant market town which offers the perfect profile for our new shop.

“Garstang has a strong identity with some fantastic independents already trading successfully and we are looking forward to becoming part of the town and offering something new to the people of Garstang.”

Alex added: “We’ve already attended our first Chamber of Trade meeting and 
the feedback we have received so far has been very positive.”
