TIME is running out to enter the popular Cockerham Triathlon, which takes place this Bank Holiday Monday.
The event involves a 350m lake swim, 15km bike ride and a final 5km run, and was launched in 2001 organised by the Cockerham Recreation Team and this year they are raising money for CancerCare .
You don't need to be an Olympian to have a go, just get together with some friends and enter as a team.
The triathlon, on Monday, August 25, is open to individuals and relay teams and you can enter online at www.cockerhamtri.org.uk.
Set in and around the picturesque village of Cockerham, the race takes in some of the area's most beautiful and historic scenery including Cockersands Abbey, Morecambe Bay and views out to the Bowland Fells.
Application forms are available online at www.cockerhamtri.org.uk or you can enter by post sending an SAE to Cockerham Village Triathlon, Fundraising, CancerCare, Slynedales, Slyne Road, Lancaster LA2 6ST.
