GARSTANG Reserves take on local rivals Wyre Villa on Saturday in a keenly anticipated Houston Cup Third Round tie at the Riverside - and it will see three of Garstang's current squad preparing to face their former club mates.
Rory Waite, Rob Butler and Kristian Maycock have all previously been on the books at Wyre.
Maycock has featured in this fixture several times in recent years, appearing for both teams, and only three seasons ago, signed for Garstang just seven days after playing against them for Wyre.
Rob Butler is new to Garstang this year, having previously played all his Saturday football at Wyre Villa. Rory Waite only played half a season at Wyre, but he scored goals in many of the games he played for their reserves, and also featured in their first team.
There are other links between the clubs including the first team assistant manager Dave Porter and reserve team boss Paul Bailey, who both played there in the 90s.
And Garstang first team captain, Geoff Wilson, also had a spell at Wyre Villa and, more recently, committee member Paul Hutton was Villa's first team manager for a brief time.
The match on Saturday kicks off at 2.30pm.
