Croston Res.....................2

Hurst Green Reserves beat Croston Reserves 6-2 in a defiant match that saw the bottom team refuse to roll over.

In a game of two dramatic halves at Smith Row, a pulsating first saw the teams draw even.

As Croston gave promotion favourites Hurst Green – unbeaten since August – a real challenge.

Young Danny Mort scored a fine double for the home side. But Croston scored twice to level the score.

Both Croston goals came from right wing crosses that the Hurst Green defence failed to manage.

In superb second half display for the home side Neil Reynolds starred with a hat-trick on début.

He netted a couple of crackers from outside the box and slotted away a penalty.

Soddart then jinked his way past three defenders to add the sixth and maintain the winning run.
