Euxton Villa Yth.............. 3

Garstang Yth.................... 2

Garstang went down to a late goal after a determined fight back at Euxton Villa.

The side had been attempting to get their first away victory of the season. Turner returned having been cup tied last week but Hall and Dallas still not fit enough to make the squad this season.

The first half was well contested and chances were limited.

Garstang had keeper Jones to thank for a few smart blocks at the on-rushing forward’s feet and a one-handed wonder save deflecting the ball round the post at point blank range. Assalone had Garstang’s best chance of the first half but shot wide of the left hand post.

Euxton opened the scoring on 60 minutes, a ball into the box fell kindly to an Euxton player and he slotted home.

Garstang went looking for the equaliser but were caught out as they committed too many men forward and a quick breakaway resulted in Euxton doubling their lead.

Garstang responded immediately, this time a through ball by Makinson was coolly slotted home by Lassalone.

The game was level minutes later when Spence flicked a header from a free kick into the top corner.

The game could have gone either way but from an Euxton corner partially cleared, Garstang allowed a ball to come back across their box and the waiting forward side footed home the decider.
