West Lancashire Football League Richardson Cup
Poulton Town 0
It was cup action for Longridge against Poulton Town in the Richardson cup.
Keefe and Gornall used the tie to give some of the squad valuable match minutes with Bates,Garry Wilkes and Dean all coming into the starting eleven.
The game was a battle from the start with Poulton defending in numbers and looking to hit Longridge on the break.
Longridge began to find their game, dominating possession and looking to get wide at every opportunity but not really testing the Poulton keeper.
With the clock ticking to half-time Longridge finally broke the deadlock; a long ball found Coar 20 yards from goal and he powered past his marker before firing home. Dean and English both looked to go close early in the second half but it was Poulton who were dangerous on the break.
The Longridge defence superbly marshalled by Ross held control and on 65 minutes Longridge got a second when the referee spotted a push in the box from a corner and St.Vall cooly slotted home the penalty kick.
Dean got the third a few minutes later from eight yards out and followed with a fourth in the dying minutes of the game.
