Garstang Football Club has welcomed three new recruits to help boost their ambitious development plans.
The club’s committee has brought on board local businessman Malcolm Abraham owner of Citrosoft Ltd, his son-in-law Alex Spence, and committed follower Dick Gudgeon.
Keen Liverpool supporter Mr Abraham, whose company is based at Bayhorse, has offered his expertise to help explore possible grant options and offer business advice.
Former player Mr Spence, who spent time at Manchester City, Oldham Athletic and Morecambe as a youngster and is also the brother of former Blackpool and Northern Ireland International Derek Spence, will be teaming up with youth team manager, Chris Nix and his assistant, Paul Southward to further develop the club’s youth system.
Alex’s son Callum is a member of this season’s youth team.
And Mr Gudgeon will be taking on match day duties including meet and greets with visitors and match day officials.
Speaking on the club’s new figures commercial manager Les Taylor said: “We are delighted to have recruited three football mad people who all have different things to give to our club.
“Garstang FC is still growing and more people are required to take responsibility in its development.
“A special thanks to Malcolm’s company, Citrosoft already a match sponsor at our club who has installed an energy drinks dispenser for the home changing rooms and provided bottles for all three teams.”
In addition, the Riversiders have also secured another major sponsorship deal.
Grove Group who are a Bodyshop Services company and who supply garages throughout the country have agreed to sponsor the training kit for both the first and second team squads.
Mr Taylor added: “We are delighted to have the support of Grove Group. It is another step forward for our club, we will continue to improve the facilities at Garstang F.C. and endeavour to look after our players in the best way that we can.”
