Garstang Yth 3 v 4 AFC Blackpool

Garstang Youth can count themselves unlucky to come away with nothing against high flying AFC Blackpool.

The home side started the more positive applying lots of pressure on the Blackpool goal. It was much against the run of play when Garstang lost the ball in midfield and a through ball split the defence for the Blackpool striker to slide the ball home.

The hosts came storming back and Bevan scored a deserved equaliser from close range before AFC went back ahead when Baileys run was clearly stopped by a foul but the referee waved play on and the visitors went straight up the other end to make it 2-1.

The second half began badly for The Riversiders when Hands unluckily turned the ball into his own net but soon got it back to 3-2 when Bevan forced home an Applegate corner.

The visitors scored what proved the be the winner with 25 minutes to go and although Carter reduced the arrears Garstang were unable to take one of several good chances in the last quarter of the game.
