Bolton Wyresdale 2

Garstang Yth 1

The influential Turner was cup-tied so one change from last week was enforced. Pakeman came in at right back and Hodson moved into midfield.

With good weather and an excellent playing surface it was the perfect day to get the ball down and pass.

In the first half that’s’ just what Bolton did but Garstang resorted to the long ball and created few opportunities. Bolton on the other hand were creating problems.

Only last ditch tackles and wayward shooting kept the score level. Eventually Bolton broke the deadlock. An attack down Garstang’s right ended with the cross being turned in at the near post.

A few changes were made to try and stem the flow towards Garstang’s goal and the half time whistle went with no change to the score line.

The play was much more even after the break and Garstang’s determination finally paid off when a through ball to Assalone came off the keeper and Cross coolly slotted home the equaliser.

As time was running out a free kick awarded to Bolton on the edge of the box was blasted home to knock the stuffing out of Garstang. They tried to respond in the little time remaining but to no avail.
