Mill Hill St Peters 0
It was “high fives” all round with five different scorers as Garstang scored five away goals for the second week running with the Reds making light work of a rugged Mill Hill side.
Manager Iain Swan had selection problems for this one, being without Makin, Anderson, Stone and Bardsley. Included in the squad was second team skipper Andy Taylor Jnr, with David Jack in the starting line up.
Garstang were soon in front when Mattichechia picked Poole out with a perfect long ball and the Garstang striker made it look easy in lobbing the oncoming keeper.
Garstang continued to threaten as Osbourne crashed a header against the bar from a Gierke corner. Then Gierke spotted Dawson off his line and lifted the ball over the keeper’s head from 25 yards to make it 2-0
Jack brought a good save out of Dawson in the 15th minute before Mill Hill had a decent spell of possession without ever really testing Brindle in the Garstang goal.
Scholey was a handful for Crossley, particularly in this period of play, but the Garstang defender once again came out on top.
Garstang resumed full control at the beginning of the second half, Draycott heading a Gierke corner over the bar.
It was virtually all over as soon as the 55th minute when Jack volleyed home a great pull back from Draycott after some superb build up play involving Gierke and Fawcett.
A piece of pure quality by Draycott made it four before Fawcett completed the demolition in the 60th minute when he comfortably rounded the keeper, with Gierke again the provider. Mill Hill were in disarray by this time and although the scoreline was not affected again, Taylor, Gierke, Jack and Crossley all had opportunities to add to the total.
This was a complete performance by a Garstang team with candidates for man of the match too numerous to mention.
