New signings as team goes for festive spin
Longridge Town are looking to strengthen their push for the second half of the season with two new signings, and a possible third to come.
Coach Anthony Keefe has signed Exuton Villa centre forward Simon Daley and former Town man and central defender Dave Woodruff, from Lostock St Gerard’s.
Woodruff has also played for Kendal and Bamber Bridge.
“I’m looking for strength and depth as we go into the second half of the season,” said Keefe.
“There’s someone else I’m after, from a higher level, but I can’t reveal who at this stage.”
To keep the lads fit over the festive break, Keefe arranged an hour’s spinning session at Preston North End’s gym, followed by an hour’s training at Vida.
“I thought they needed to run off the Christmas turkey,” said Keefe.
“They suffered, but so did I. I did all the training they did.”
Fitness is key over the next few weeks if Town are to maintain their position.
On Saturday, they are away to Crooklands Casuals, with tough matches to follow against Eagley, Charnock Richard and Euxton Villa.
