Horrendous weather conditions defeated Longridge Town FC and their reserves over the weekend.

Town’s away clash with Poulton was called off, and the reserves’ home fixture with Milnthorpe Centurions met a similar fate.

But chairman Brian Parkinson said the club still sat joint top of the West Lancs Premier Division, despite having missed out.

“We are where we want to be and quite happy going into the Christmas period,” he said

We are still joint top with Charnock Richard, despite missing our match.”

“And while we’re talking about Christmas, the club wants to wish all its supporters a very happy Christmas and New Year.”

The next fixture is this Saturday, against Wren Rovers at Blackpool.
