Both of Garstang Rugby Club’s games were called off on Saturday as they fell victim to frozen pitches.
The 1st XV had been due to travel to Birchfield in a North Lancs One fixture as they looked to break their away day hoodoo but the game was called off late in the day. The game has been rearranged and will now take place on January 3.
The Blues game at home to Blackburn 3rds was also called off. No new date has been scheduled for this game yet. The Blues also had some news in the week as the third round draw for the Intermediate Shield was made. They had the good fortune to be drawn at home and they will play Lymm 4ths on January 24.
The 1st XV have no game this coming Saturday but the Blues will play their final game of the year when they take on Rossendale 3rds at home, KO 14:15.
There is also a big club game scheduled over the festive period when Garstang take on Bay Horse in the traditional annual fixture for the Jason Bamber Memorial Trophy. The game will take place on December 28, KO 13:30, at Garstang Rugby Club.
