A team of employees from James Hall & Co, the Spar distributor for the North of England, put on their running shoes and raised funds for the NSPCC taking part in the Garstang 10k.
Fifteen colleagues from James Hall & Co in Preston completed the 10k route across Garstang, with a host of other runners from the area.
Brian Walker was one of the runners who took part in the race on Sunday, January 13.
He said “The day of the run was fantastic, there was a great atmosphere and we had lots of incredible support from our families, friends, and colleagues, many of whom joined us along the course of the race to encourage and cheer on those of us running. It really was a fun and fantastic day for all involved.
“It was particularly rewarding to know that by taking part we were each helping to raise vital funds to support vulnerable children. The NSPCC is an extremely worthy cause and we are delighted to have managed to raise money to support them.”
Kathryn Taylor, NSPCC corporate fundraising manager for Lancashire, said: “I would like to say a big thank you to James Hall & Co for taking part in the Garstang 10k to support the NSPCC.
“James Hall & Spar have long supported the children’s charity with its vital work and thanks to their commitment and fundraising efforts; the money raised will help the NSPCC be there for more vulnerable children and young people.
“The NSPCC can only provide services through the generosity of our supporters like Spar and the support of the public.” The NSPCC and Spar have been working in partnership since 2006 and have already raised over £2.8 million to help protect children across the UK.
