The Annual St Wilfrids (Longridge) Panel Darts Competition has reached the halfway stage of the eight-week qualifying competitions.
The competition, now in its sixth year, gives a chance for all local players to take on some of the best players in the north west and win the £1,000 first prize.
It started on January 4 and runs for eight consecutive Fridays, with the 16 qualifiers coming back on Friday, March 1, for the grand finals. Entries have been good so far, but the snow last Friday affected the numbers.
Qualifiers so far are:
Week 1: Steve Kirkby (Longridge) and Dave Place (Blackburn) – 58 entries;
Week 2: Andy Cornwall (Mellor) and Daz Place (Blackburn) – 59 entries;
Week 3: Jeff Baron (Blackburn) and Ryan Hoggarth (Skipton) – 42 entries;
Week 4: Ian Lever (Blackburn) and Robert Rickwood (Burnley) – 30 entries.
Alongside the main event a four-week ladies competition is also under way,
Qualifiers so far are: Week 1 : Katie Hoggarth (Skipton) and Heather Draper (Burnley);
Week 2: Michelle Kirkby and Charlot Podmore Nappin (both Longridge).
Both competitions continue this Friday, February 1, and is open to everyone with entries being taken up to 8pm on the night.
