Garstang Amateur swimming club is having a fantastic start to its gala season, the swimmers are achieving some great times and producing some fantastic swims.

Organisers say this is thanks to the time, effort and dedication of the children and coaches during their training sessions.

The training sessions were given a boost as the club enjoyed the company of two visitors.

The club yet again had a fantastic turnout to the second of the technique clinics hosted by GB Olympian Rob Bale.

Rob was a GB Olympic 200m freestyle relay finalist, and on this occasion he coached the evening training sessions focusing on breaststroke technique. This was the second of four clinics to be hosted by Rob.

The swimmers were also delighted by a visit to the training sessions by Garstang Mayor, Coun Sandra Perkins.

A club spokesman said: “It was a delight to see her on pool side and would like to take this opportunity to thank her for her support, and for spending her time coming to the club to see how much time and effort the youngsters of the area spend on a sport that they love.”

Garstang Amateur Swimming Club are always looking for new members, from pre-school age upwards to learn to swim, train, keep fit, and/or compete. There is coaching for beginners to experienced swimmers. For further information visit the website, or pop into one of the training sessions.
