Isacc missed out on top BBC award

Teenage wheelchair racer Isacc Towers missed out to world cup shooting winner Amber Hill in the BBC Young Sports Personality 2013 this week.

Fifteen-year-old Isaac from Catterall, was shortlisted amongst 10 young sporting heroes for the award, after victory in his age-group at the London Mini-Marathon in April, followed by second and third place in the 800m and 1,500m at the Swiss Nationals.

Isacc topped off an extraordinary year of success with titles in the 400m and 800m at the England Athletics Senior/U20 Combined Events in June before breaking the senior European 1,500m record.

The paralympic medal hopeful for 2016 has broken every national T34 age group record from 100m to 5,000m.

Isaac, a member of Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde Athletics Club and a student at AKS in Lytham was a finalist at the 2012 and 2013 Lancashire Sports Awards taking the Highly Commended Award in the Rising Star category in 2012.
