Morecambe and District Junior Anglers, which draws members from the Garstang and Longridge areas, held their first match of the season at Cleveley Bridge Fisheries on Saturday, April 13.
The start of the match was called at 11am, due to the recent warmer weather and sunny start to the day the fish were beginning to feed and it wasn’t long before the anglers were landing several fish.
As the day progressed the weather turned, the wind picked up and the rain began to fall, but all junior members braved the conditions until time was called at 4pm with the weigh in to follow.
All participants managed to catch some fish consisting of bream, roach, rudd and carp, the match winner was Jamie Johnson (pictured) with a bag of bream weighing 7lb 12oz.
In second place was the youngest member, Sam Dockray and in third place Danny Hunter.
