In a tighter finish than he would have liked, Longridge Golf Club’s Jeremy Morgan made a successful defence of the Lancashire County Seniors’ Championship over two rounds at Heysham Golf Club.

With a testing par of 70 to aim for, Jeremy posted two rounds of 72 for a four over par total of 144. The finishing holes were particularly daunting – dropping shots on both the 16th and 18th holes, but a birdie at the 17th proved to be the key shot.

Although Michael Gray of Lancaster GC also had the same total, Jeremy’s victory was assured in a card play-off due to his consistent scoring. Once again, Jeremy can look forward to a number of events reserved for a county champion.

However, a successful qualifying round to play in the British Seniors’ Open Championship is being played at Royal Birkdale this year, is high on his agenda.
