Junior players from Longridge Golf Club have been making quite an impact in a wide range of competitions.
In the Lancashire Boys Under-16 Championship held at Gathurst Golf Club, 15-year-old James Catlow playing off a handicap of 10 recorded a net 66 to finish in third place, just one shot behind the winner.
James has now reduced his handicap to nine.
The youngster was subsequently included in the North Lancashire Juniors’ team in a match against Fylde Juniors on his home course.
Team mates included Longridge’s Junior Captain Macauley Murgatroyd and Anthony Slater, who played the shot of the day with a hole in one on the 13th hole.
Macauley and Anthony have also played in the Preston and District Scratch team in a recent match against North Lancashire and are due to play against Manchester.
