A talented pool player left it to the last black ball to claim victory in the Ambitions Nationals finals.
Michael Chippendale, 15, from Great Eccleston picked up the junior title representing Lancashire at the competition in Coventry.
The GCSE student at Garstang Community Academy was on a winning streak securing five wins out of seven to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.
He beat his player 2-1 sending him to the final, a nervy five frame contest.
Mum Lorraine said: “Michael broke and dished against a strong Welsh-based opponent and he also took the second frame. His opponent then hit back winning the next two frames.
“The final frame continued the excellent standard, with both players giving little away causing the match to go down to the black ball. But Michael held his concentration and came through to win.”
The championship win rounded off a month of success for Michael who was also named county winner at the Lancashire Boys & Girls Clubs held 8 ball pool tournament at Stephen Hendrys Snooker & Pool Club in Preston.
Representing Young Inskip, in the Under 16s, he won 12 straight frames, qualifying for the national tournament at Rileys Pool and Snooker Centre in Coventry
Lancashire County Pool, youth manager Diane Stocks, said: “Well done Michael, I am delighted for you and very proud of you too! ”
