Garstang Ladies Hockey Club launches its new season with a club day on Sunday, August 4, 11-3pm at their impressive home pitches at UCLan Sports Arena, Cottam.

There is action on and off the pitch with live demonstration matches and a chance to get hands on with a variety of training drills, in the skill zone.

There will be something for all abilities with specialised junior sessions, a chance to test skills and shoot at goal.

The day will feature activities for families including a bouncy castle, face painting, colouring in and a tug-of-war challenge.

A range of kit and equipment will be on sale and complimentary refreshments will be available alongside freshly baked cakes and biscuits.

The club would like lots of people to join them - there is something for everyone and members want to encourage people of all ages who’ve never played hockey before or who’ve played many years ago and are thinking of coming back to hockey to go along and give it a try.

Garstang Ladies’ Hockey Club fields two ladies’ teams in Saturday leagues.

Pre-season fitness has already begun and training times for the coming season are Thursdays 6.30-8pm, beginning August 15. Indoor sessions are available for the first team on Monday evenings and there are free tasters sessions for newcomers of all abilities.
