Two of Stonyhurst College’s hockey players have earned national recognition.

Fourteeen-year-old Meg Murphy, from Hurst Green, and Corentin Schifflers (16), of Clitheroe, been selected to play at tier two level in England Hockey’s High Performance Assessment Camps.

These high-level hockey squads are known as the Pennine Pumas and represent the north of England.

Murphy will play in the Under-15s girls and Corentin will join the Under-17s boys.

The camps prepare young players for potential future involvement at an international level, and are held annually.

The HiPAC camps will take place at Lilleshall, in Shropshire, from October 2015 25-27. Head of Girls’ Games Emma Kay said: “This is a huge achievement for both of them and we wish them all the best going forward.”
