Manchester Literature Festival returns to the city’s Royal Exchange Theatre from Monday with an outstanding programme of events.
At the inaugural Children’s Bookshow, award-winning writer Jackie Kay will be reading from her evocative collection of poems Red Cherry Red, which includes the magical poem The World of Trees inspired by the Forest of Burnley.
Meanwhile Helen Fielding, comic novelist, screen writer and creator of the infamous
Bridget Jones, talks about her new Jones novel (on Sunday October 13). On the same day Booker Prize-winning author Roddy Doyle discusses his new novel, The Guts.
