Nimble dancers from Lancashire’s renowned Ludus company have been tripping the light fantastic in the middle of Preston.
The dancers were putting the finishing touches to their forthcoming star performance as part of the Harris Flights project, which was officially launched on Saturday, the anniversary of the first Guild Proclamation.
A packed programme of entertainment will run at the Harris Museum and Art Gallery throughout August and September.
Blaze, Ludus Dance and More Music all performed during the Guild City Festival last September and they all appear in the Harris Flights programme, entertaining crowds with dance and live music. Preston based Bluestreak Arts will premiere a specially commissioned piece for Harris Flights; a theatrical performance fusing live music, dance and physical theatre to tell the story of the architect of the Harris Museum, James Hibbert.
Staff and students from the University of Central Lancashire feature heavily throughout the programme bringing a variety of events to the Harris Flights including science, children’s storytelling and dance.
