Where is the most unusual place to read a book?
That’s the competition Longridge CE Primary School came up with for World Book Day.
And the winners from both pupils and teachers were... in a swimming pool, on a wall and tucked into the boot of a car!
Prizes went to each group but the top contenders, as pictured, were Year five having a cool read in Stonyhurst College’s swimming pool during their regular lesson there.
Another winner was class five teacher Karen Boardman sitting on the school wall and Class 4 teacher Carmen Dewhurst - who organised the day - in the boot of her car.
Pupils also wore pyjamas to school and took along their favourite bedtime stories plus their teddy bears.
Head Janet Cooper said the annual event had been a success and enjoyed by all.
