The Rotary Club of Southport Links is holding the Tarleton Beer Festival at Tarleton Bowling Club this weekend, from today until Sunday.

In addition to more than 30 real ales, cask lagers and ciders available – all at £2.50 per pint – there will also be a wine bar and food will be served all weekend.

There is a Crown Green Bowls Tournament on Saturday afternoon, and live music from the Suttons of Swing otonight, Friday, and from the Jules Dutch Band on Saturday evening.

This is the fifth annual festival the club has organised, which has so far raised in the region of £20,000 for a number of local and national charities.

This year, all profits from the festival will be donated to several good causes, with the largest beneficiaries being charities involved in the treatment and research into prostate cancer, including MenUnited; Preston North End’s manager Simon Grayson’s chosen charity.

Simon is hoping to officially open the festival from 4pm today.
