Hope & Social have been described as one of the UK’s top five live bands and also an outfit who like to do things a bit differently.

They describe themselves as a bit like a Yorkshire E Street Band meets Arcade Fire meets The Faces meets Dexy’s Midnight Runners meets Prefab Sprout.

“We are prolific.

“We formed the UK’s first fan-funded record label
Alamo Music Ltd and have made just about every mistake a ‘professional’ band can make.

“We decided that
entertaining people and making the songs we love is the most important thing in music.”

They certainly embody fan involvement and, before the gig at Lancaster’s Dukes Theatre next Tuesday, there will be an opportunity to talk to the band.

The Meet the Artists event in The Dukes gallery at 6pm is free but places must be
reserved at the box office.
