A three-night festival of cutting edge house, techno and dance will have a distinctly medieval feel in Lancaster this coming weekend.

Online ticket merchants Skiddle.com have commandeered the ancient city’s epic castle for A-Wing, an event showcasing renowned names on the scene over three consecutive nights.

Radio 1 DJ Rob Da Bank with 2 Bears kicks off on Friday night, house and techno legend DJ James Zabiela, right, takes over on Saturday and veteran house and disco DJ Derrick Carter rounds off proceedings with a Sunday night session.

Tickets, priced £25 each, are still available from www.skiddle.com

Live music of a different kind is on the cards on the other side of the city on Sunday, when Lancaster Live Festival kicks off at The Vale of Lune Rugby Club, featuring live
music, DJs, and entertainment. Performances for the event, which starts at noon and continues until 11pm, include The Bottlenecks,
Pianoman, Greenheart, Blackheart Afterglow, Jay Blackburn, Rime Suspex, Bowski, Fully Charged and Montana.

Tickets are available online, priced £12 adult and £5 children or more on the door.
