Live at LICA at Lancaster University welcomes the internationally-renowned Quartetto di Cremona on Thursday.
The string quartet use a set of magnificent Cremonese instruments – a combination of old and new masters – and their dedication to their work shows through their music.
Quartetto di Cremona formed in 2000 and building on their early successes, have played to critical acclaim at the most important venues and festivals in Europe including at the Beethoven Haus and BeethovenFest Bonn, and numerous performances at the Wigmore Hall in London.
Their programme contrasts a first half of some of the most charming music ever written in Kreisler’s String Quartet and an early work by the Genoese maestro, Paganini with one of the truly greatest works ever written for the medium, Schubert’s Death and the Maiden.
The seating for this performance will be in-the-round, which will allow audiences to get up close to these extraordinary players.
