Two ex-Coronation Street stars will be rehearsing in Chorley for a new play about the comedian Les Dawson.

The play, Cissie and Ada – An Hysterical Rectomy, is being staged at the Blackpool Grand, Lancaster Grand and
Manchester’s Lowry.

It stars Steven Arnold, Coronation Street’s Ashley the butcher, and Eric Potts who played baker Diggory (right).

The cast, which includes Mrs Thatcher impersonator Steve Nallon from Spitting Image, will be rehearsing at the Chorley Community Centre before their opening night in Blackpool on July 15.

The play has been put together by London-based producer Chris Mellor.

Chris was formerly Chorley’s cultural service manager with the council and is hoping will reach the West End.
