Lytham Hall’s outdoor theatre season opens tomorrow night.
Chapterhouse Theatre Company premiere their countrywide tour of Pride and Prejudice, 55 performances which will take them to venues throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland over four summer months.
The play, which is being staged to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the publication of Pride and Prejudice, is the first in a season of four open air plays at the venue.
The company will alternate Pride and Prejudice with Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility as they play at venues in some of England’s most prestigious outdoor sites including Knebworth, Harewood House and Chatsworth.
Oscar winner Colin Firth, who famously played Mr Darcy in the BBC1 TV serialisation of the work, has written to the Chapterhouse company to wish them luck with the production.
