Three bedrooms, four couples and one chaotic night – all means Oldham Coliseum is reviving Alan Ayckbourn’s Bedroom Farce.

Audiences watch the different pressures of relationships at their different stages in a classic comedy which slices deep into the soul of suburbia.

Ayckbourn’s skill in unearthing disquieting truths is on full display as he reminds us that marriage as an institution can slowly slip from thrilling excitement into mundane habit.

This production, presented jointly by Oldham Coliseum Theatre and Harrogate Theatre is directed by a true Ayckbourn fan and former colleague Robin Herford.

Highlighting the play’s mechanical prowess, all three bedrooms exist alongside one another with the action flitting between them.

The production runs until February 22.
