Great time at Catterall Gala
Pirates, aliens, penguins and astronauts were among the hundreds of visitors that descended on Catterall for the annual village gala this weekend.
The event kicked off at 1.30pm on Saturday with a procession led by the morris dancers and Pilling Brass Band.
The band was followed by retiring queen Niamh McShannon and new queen Louise Ashton. The nine-year-old Kirkland and Catterall Primary School was a rosebud to Catterall queen Grace Piela-Kirby in 2009 and has also taken part on floats.
