Man 'attacked one police officer and threw slate at another' in Ashton
A police officer was assaulted and another had a slate hurled at him after they were called to reports of a 'threatening' man in Ashton.
Multiple police cars and vans attended the incident on Bulmer Street off Stocks Road at 11.25am today.
A man had been reported to be acting in a threatening way.
A Lancashire police spokesman said: "Officers have attended and the man has assaulted one officer before going to a nearby alleyway, picking up a slate and throwing it at a second officer."
A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody.
