Preston double stabbing accused appears in court

Lewis Cowell-Rankin, 20, of Liverpool Road, Preston, is accused of two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of a green flick knife.
Joshua Morse, 22, and Jade Fox, 28, who were travelling in a Vauxhall Corsa, received multiple stab wounds just before midnight on Liverpool Road on Friday, September 4.

Hide AdMr Morse received injuries to his legs, back and abdomen and is in a serious but stable condition in hospital, while Miss Fox, who suffered wounds to her back, has since been released.
Preston Magistrates' Court, sitting at Sessions House, committed his case straight to Preston Crown Court where he will next appear on October 6. No pleas were entered.
At the time the busy throughfare was closed between Hutton and Longton as police carried out an extensive search of the area.
In a previous statement, DI Steve Monks said: "We are still in the early stages of our investigation but I would like to reassure the local community that we believe this was an isolated incident, all parties involved are known to each other and there is no wider threat to the public."
