Fire involving gas cylinders prompts explosion fears at farm near Kirkham
Three engines from Preston and South Shore were called to the incident at around 10am on May 9 following reports of a fire in a storage container on Blackpool Road.
A 200m cordon was put in place however, no domestic properties were situated inside the cordon which meant that no evacuations had to take place, say police.

Hide AdA spokesman for the fire service said: "We were called to reports of a storage container on fire at a farm. We believed at the time that the containers had Oxyacetylene gas cylinders inside although we later discovered that the cylinders were actually LPG and helium.
"These cylinders posed a risk of explosion so a cordon was put in place while the cylinders were cooled.
"Thankfully, the cylinders did not explode."
One crew remains at the scene while the damping down process takes place.
Nobody was injured.
