Delays on M6 after vehicle fire
Traffic has been stopped on the southbound M6 following a vehicle fire, say motorway police.
Police and fire services were called to the scene of the fire between Junctions 28 and 27 near Charnock Services at around 11.15am on Monday.
A spokesman for the police said in a post to Twitter: "Traffic [is] stopped just prior to Charnock Services due to a vehicle fire.
"Fire brigade attending to deal and we'll get you moving as soon as it's safe."
The road reopened at around 12pm.
