Brockholes Scarecrow Fest

The award winning Brockholes Nature Reserve, near Preston, hosts its first ever Scarecrow Festival this Bank Holiday weekend.

The event takes over the reserve’s Visitor Village and grounds on Saturday, Sunday and Monday May 4/5/6 from 11am to 4pm each day.

Visitors can follow the Scarecrow Trail to see how many characters they can get their photograph taken with.

In the activity room, kids can enjoy traditional corn dolly making for a charge of £2 for materials, or other scarecrow related fun, for free. Or there is face painting from £3 a go.

Visitors can even come in fancy dress and enter the competition for free by having a photo taken in a cornfield and put on the scarecrow wall of fame – from which a winning outfit will be chosen at 3pm on Monday.

There is even an Open Air Barn Dance from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
