Culture centre opens to the city
Work by artists based at Lancaster’s Luneside Studios is currently on exhibition at The Dukes gallery.
Multivalent is contemporary art by artists who work from the Castle Park studios.
Luneside Studios have been a part of the city’s cultural life for 32 years, originally housed in a former warehouse on St George’s Quay. They are one of the longest running studio groups in the North West and during the past three decades have provided workshop facilities for more than 100 practising artists.
Among them are founder member, Nik Ingham and The Dukes Deputy Front of House Manager, Simon Nixon who both have work on show as part of the current exhibition.
There’s a chance to look around the studios this evening from 5.30-7.30pm and anopportunity to meet the artists at The Dukes from 8.30pm. Both events are free as part of First Fridays, a monthly festival of the arts.
Multivalent can be viewed in the gallery until June 28 during normal Dukes opening hours. Call the Box Office on 01524 598500 for further details.
