Jazz legend’s date in the city

Virtuoso pianist, bandleader, composer, arranger and broadcaster, Julian Joseph is at Live at LICA at Lancaster University next Thursday.

Acclaimed by critics and audiences the world over, he has been hailed as one of the finest pianists to emerge this side of the Atlantic and his musical ideas reflect the influence of all forms of music in the history of jazz: from classical to rock and pop.

Joseph presented popular show Jazz Legends for BBC Radio 3, has written original works for a wide range of formats including symphony orchestra and chamber ensemble.

Live at LICA audiences will be treated to a programme that features a selection of Joseph’s own compositions and some well-known standards from composers such as Gershwin, Ellington and Porter.
