There are lots of countryside ranger events in the grounds of the historic hall every Tuesday throughout August – beginning with a lesson in the art camouflage on Tuesday from 1pm to 3pm.

And in the weeks to follow, children can learn all sorts of new countryside skills, including learning to make bows and arrows on August 13, the art of fire lighting on August 20 and building a shelter good enough to sleep in on August 27.

All the events will be supervised by countryside park ranger, Sarah Dornan. But places are limited and must be booked in advance on 01772 533919, from Monday to Friday or 01995 640557 at weekends.
