Coun Peter Wilson, Deputy Leader of Chorley Council, said: “Macbeth promises to be a dramatic performance exploring the barbaric nature of ambition, witches, wives and a tortured soul, so it’s not for the feint-hearted.

The Walled Garden will become a First World War rehabilitation centre, with a group of soldiers remembering lost comrades in a haunting adaptation of Macbeth.

Witchcraft, manipulation and murder ensue as the soldiers attempt to recover from the physical and mental scars of war.

The play is on Saturday August 16 at 7.30pm and tickets are on sale. They are £10 for adults, £7 for children (aged 5-16), or £30 for family tickets (two adults, two children).
